DC continues to expand its new universe this week as Supergirl #1 hits the shelves. Written by Steve Orlando with art by Brian Ching, this comic will focus on Kara Danvers as she attempts to balance her life as a superhero with her new life as an average, American teenager. But demons from her Kryptonian past come back to haunt her and eventually Kara finds herself face-to-face with her father, the Cyborg Superman.

DC will also be releasing Cyborg Rebirth #1 written by John Semper Jr. and drawn by Paul Pelletier, Sandra Hope, and Tony Kordos. Justice League #4 will also be hitting shelves this week written by Bryan Hitch with art by Jesus Merino.

Over at Marvel, the Civil War II tie-ins continue with Invincible Iron Man #13 written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Mike Deodato. Fans can also read about the aftermath of the “Last Days of Magic” storyline in Doctor Strange #11 from writer Jason Aaron and artists Leonardo Romero and Kevin Nowlan. Silk #12 will also be available this coming week from writer Robbie Thompson and artist Tana Ford.

Brian K. Vaughan’s Paper Girls #9 will be coming out from Image this week and will feature the art of Cliff Chang, as well as a new series, Eclipse, from writer Zachary Kaplan and artist Giovanni Timpano. Also, Boo The World’s Cutest Dog will be debuting in comic book stores everywhere from writers Kristen Deacon, Audrey Elizabeth, Fernando Ruiz, Joelle Sellner and artists Tony Fleecs, Fernando Ruiz, Robbie Robbins.

These comics and more will be in stores and online on September 7.
