TWD Season 7 trailer is here, and WE STILL CAN’T TELL WHO SURVIVES

The trailer for The Walking Dead Season 7 was released on July 22 at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Calif., and it’s nearly as big of a cryptic cliffhanger as the Season 6 finale was.

The first minute or so of the preview tells us what we already know: One of the most prominent characters (Glen, Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Sasha, Michonne, Abraham, Rosita, Eugene, Aaron, or Rick) will be beaten, most likely to death, by Negan. We get flashbacks of each of the characters’ strongest moments in previous seasons, but we are still left with no clue as to who Negan chose (please, TV God, not Glen or pregnant Maggie!).

The second half of the video reminds us of who’s still out there and out of Negan’s grasp. We see Carol, Morgan, Jesus and a slew of new characters who seem about as tough as the familiar gang — and we see a lot of zombie-bashing. There’s certainly not enough detail provided to determine the main plot of Season 7. Even Melissa McBride shows up on-screen as herself to say, “I don’t know what the hell’s going on in the most wonderful way!”.

One thing we can take away for sure from the trailer is that King Ezekiel, a main character from The Walking Dead comic series, will be introduced into the show along with his pet tiger, Shiva. Although I haven’t gotten far enough in reading the comics to have met this character yet, I can only hope he and his “kingdom” will help provide a powerful force against the tyrant Negan.

Also, the badass Tara scene at the end gave me chills. She’s already been through so much; I’m anxious to see how she processes the news of her girlfriend Denise being killed. I imagine we’ll get a Carol-esque character development from her, and if that means she becomes another ruthless female badass on the squad, I’m OK with that.
