Xbox One bundle may help sales catch up to PS4

Microsoft seems to be going for the killing blow this holiday season against PlayStation 4, and I think they have a good chance of making up some lost ground.

An Xbox One bundle including three console-exclusive games that came out this year was unveiled this week. The first game in the bundle, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which we gave a 9/10, is sure to entice plenty of 360 owners looking to chainsaw enemies in half in prettier ways than ever before.

Rare Replay, which contains 30 games from Rare, should hook those looking for the nostalgic feeling of playing the original Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark or Battletoads.

Ori and the Blind Forest, which I gave a perfect score,  also popped up in the bundle. While this $20 adventure may seem like icing on the cake, it’s actually a beautiful game I believe can stand up to many full-priced games.

With Sony’s somewhat lackluster holiday 2015 release schedule and Microsoft lagging behind Sony in current generation console sales, the company may be (and probably should be) looking at this holiday season as perhaps their only chance to catch up after stumbling at the start of this generation.

Only time will tell how the console war pans out, but what do you think? Does Microsoft have a chance to catch up with, or perhaps even jump ahead of, Sony? Or is the PlayStation 4 too far ahead at this point? Let me know in the comments below!
