Among some of the many awesome things that have come out of NYCC including intense cosplay (someone actually spent 1600 recreating the Hulk-Buster armor from Age of Ultron), and awesome new initiatives from DC, Marvel brought a teaser trailer for the second season of Daredevil, one of its comic-book based Netflix series that was released earlier this year.
The series stars Charlie Cox as everyone’s favorite adorable, blind lawyer-turned-vigilante, Matt Murdock. Alongside him are his friends Karen (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy (Elden Henson) and Claire (Rosario Dawson) and together they are attempting to clean up Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. This gets to be a little harder when Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) comes along and tries to do the same thing only in a much more evil way.
The second season is slated to have the return of Karen, Foggy and Claire and will be adding several popular Marvel characters from Daredevil’s rogues gallery: Elektra and the Punisher. Elektra will be played by Elodie Yung and the Punisher will be played by Jon Bernthal. The teaser from NYCC gave audiences the first look at the arrival of both of these new characters.
How they fit into the story and what role they will play either alongside or against our heroes is still a mystery but it is really exciting to see these characters finally grace the screen. Even though they’ve been on the screen before but we don’t talk about that. Daredevil season two will be released in 2016.
