First of all, if you haven’t seen it, you need to. Several times.
Warner Brothers released the video on Youtube yesterday after a low-quality version of the Comic-Con footage leaked online.
“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday,” said Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing for Warner Brothers in a statement. “We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”
But to those pirates, I say thank you.
Here are my initial thoughts on the trailer from the three times I’ve watched it:
- RIP Heath Ledger.
- How is Cara Delevigne going to go from teenage-girl-next-door in Paper Towns, the new adaptation of the John Green novel, to a super villain in Suicide Squad as the role of Enchantress?
- RIP Heath Ledger.
- Why is Will Smith in this movie?
- RIP Heath Ledger.
Those thoughts aside, it still looks like a fantastic movie. Although, it will be interesting to see how Jared Leto holds up previous performances of the Joker character by Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson.
And now we wait…all the way until Aug. 5, 2016. 🙁
What are everyone’s thoughts on the trailer?
